Bibby’s back yard adventure

Mar 28

I was on a trip with Riley Leboe, Tanner Rainville and Josh Bibby to his grandfathers cabin that he spent his childhood in. It will be a feature story for Freeskier as well as a segment in next years Level 1 film. The trip was amazing with great snow, amazing terrain and loads of Redneck antics. Check out the first of two edits on the trip.

Slednecks 16 in Revy

Feb 24

Brad Gilmore and I just finished up a trip to Revelstoke to film For Slednecks 16. Snow was amazing but as always we had a bit of a fight with the weather trying to find clear skies. Check out the you tube vid I threw together with some of the Contour footage.

When it rains covers it pours

I just found out that I’m on the cover of Foto Cult. Which brings my Cover count to 53. It’s an older shot from Eric Berger that was chosen as the photo of the year by Powder a couple years back and won an award at the Illume contest. Eric also took the photo that was my 50th cover that was on February edition of Powder. Since Powder I was on the cover of the Pique with a photo that was part of Russ Dalby’s winning slideshow for Deep Winter. Since that I am also on the cover of Mountain Life with a shot from Blake Jorgenson from an Oakley trip  I did to  Bralorne. In whistler there are a few shops that have a 3 magazine racks a piece for the 3 free magazines you can get here. Mountain Sledder, Mountain Life and Whistler Traveller. All 3 magazines are Blake Jorgensons of me riding. Pretty Cool.

Cover #50 and 51Maybe

I can’t begin to explain how stoked I am on getting my 50th cover. Powder magazine. The mag I grew up pouring thru the pages and telling my mom at an early age that I would be on the cover one day. Of course she went along with it but laughing in the back of her mind at how her son growing up in a little redneck town in Northern Ont would be on the cover of the biggest ski mag out there some day. Well this is my 4th time that I’ve been lucky enough to grace the cover of my favorite magazine. The 51st cover in my mind is still a maybe as it’s on a photo from Russ Dalby’s winning slide show in the Deep Winter Photo Challenge this year. It’s on the Pique nesmagazine which has a huge circulation but is a weekly paper. Regardless if you want a signed copy of the Powder cover or just want to come heckle me! Swing by the Rossignol booth at SIA in Denver this weekend.

Deep Winter Photo Challenge

Deep Winter Photo Challenge

Last week I took part in Whistlers 7th annual Deep Winter challenge. There is 6 photographers with the task of shooting in bounds on Whistler Blackcomb for three days . On the 4th day they have to have a 3-5 min slide show to present to the sold out crowd. This year I worked with Russ Dalby who I’ve worked with before mainly shooting in the backcountry around Whistler. We had a really fun time even though it hadn’t snowed for over a week and had been sunny every day leading up to the contest. As always, the shows were all amazing but the judges liked ours the most.

Cover 48

I’m really stoked on the new edition of Mountain Sledder. Not only because of the amount of press I have in it but also the quality of the mag and representation of mountain riding the way I see it. Keep up the good work and thanks for giving the sport the representation it deserves.
