First day home in Pemberton

First day home in Pemberton

On Friday March 27th I had the best day of the season, as well as the toughest day ever. Karla went into labour at 9pm on the 26th and Lily was born at 5pm on the 27th, weighing in at 7lbs 13 ozs.

We just got hit by another Arctic cold front on the coast. The day it blew in I was up trying to film some sled action. We searched everywhere but could not find any snow that wasn’t terribly wind effected. I had kinda given up until it snowed. The snow report recorded 2cms but somehow the other side of the valley got about 20cms of cold smoke. It was perfect, everyone thought the snow was garbage so we had the mountains to ourselves. Had a great couple days shooting sledding and skiing. Managed to hit airs on skis then go back up and hit the same lines by sled. Should make for a cool cross over segment. Enjoy some of Eric Bergers shots of playing in the ice.

getting ready for another day in the coast range

getting ready for another day in the coast range

I’ve been lucky enough to have my entire family living in Pemberton this winter. My brother Daryl bought in Pemberton last spring. Dave joined in, renting a place next door to Daryl and my parents found a place to rent for 3 months of the winter. On my last trip to Stewart my dad came along and not only followed us around but led the charge. The bros and I spent the last few days fighting weather, trying to get things done around Whistler with Blake Jorgenson and Rossi team manager PK.

It wasn’t the most productive days but it’s always fun to hang with the family and tease the little brothers.

As any of you know that have been in the Whistler area. Metiorologists know nothing. Every time we’re supposed to get snow it’s sunny and vice versa.Regardless of what they say the snow has been pretty good lately. I’ve been hanging around waiting for my wife Karla to pop. She’s due on March 14th. While home I’ve been filming for Slednecks and BRRAPP films as well as trying to shoot some ski images. The snow hasn’t worked out the best for skiing but the sledding has been great. Hopefully we can get some snow before the next high pressure.
