Valdez Alaska

The truck survived the Alaska highway. 3100 kms from Pemberton to Valdez. We rode Stewart for a day on the way up and then pinned it north. The drive is amazing with not much other than wilderness along the way. Gas stations are even few and far between. We ran out of gas once but luckily had fuel in the sleds and could tip them over into a jerry to get enough fuel to make the next open service station. Showed up to a great place to stay at the www.mountainskyhotel.com here in Valdez and have been greeted with our first two days of blue skies and good snow. It’s been a bit unstable so we haven’t really gotten after it instead just getting our feet wet. Valdez isa alive with ski, board and sled spirit right now. We’re here to be part of Tailgate Alaska and event organized to bring together any mountain enthusiasts on Thompson Pass. There are heated yurts, beer gardens, grills, helis and snowmobile taxis. What more could you ask for!!!
